The National Law School Journal (NLSJ) is the flagship journal of NLSIU and it is one of the earliest legal journals to be published in India under the leadership of the founding Director Padma Bhushan Prof. (Dr.) Madhava Menon. The year 2019 was of immense significance to the Journal as it marked the completion of 20 years of NLSJ.

Submission guidelines
The National Law School Journal seeks pieces authored by practitioners, academicians and researchers. This implies that those enrolled in research degrees (e.g. M. Phil, PhD. and comparable programmes) are welcome to contribute. However, we will not be accepting submissions from students who are presently enrolled in taught programmes.

- Articles and Research Papers with abstract (8,000-12,000 words).
- Shorter essays (3,000-5,000 words).
- Comments on Judicial Decisions, Legislative Briefs (3,000-5,000 words inclusive of footnotes).
- Book Review (2,000-3,000 words).

While there are no rigid thematic constraints, we expect contributions to be largely within the rubric of legal studies and allied interdisciplinary scholarship.
Submission Procedure
The submission may be e-mailed to nlsj@nls.ac.in (preferably in MS Word format) along with a covering letter addressed to Dr Yashomati Ghosh (Chief Editor, National Law School Journal, 2020-21). The covering letter should include the author’s contact information and a short abstract that outlines the main questions or themes addressed in the paper.
Peer review
All submissions will go through an initial round of review by the editorial board and the selected pieces will subsequently be sent for peer-review before finalisation for publication.
